Data Privacy Act of 2012

1. Introduction

The Bravehearts Technology And Livelihood Education Organization at the University of Rizal System (URS) - Cainta Campus is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which our web portal collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from students and users.

By using this platform, registering an account, or submitting forms, you consent to the data practices described in this policy, fully aligned with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) of the Philippines.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect personal information that is strictly necessary to provide organizational services, validate student identity, and manage events. The information we may collect includes:

  • Personal Identification: Full Name, Student Number, Program, and Section.
  • Contact Information: Active E-mail Address, Contact Number, and Residential Address.
  • Digital Assets: Formal ID pictures for profile generation, and files/documents submitted for specific events or competitions.
  • System Data: Data saved securely in your browser's local storage (such as theme preferences and current login session data).

3. How We Use Your Information

The BTLED Organization uses your data exclusively for academic, administrative, and organizational purposes, specifically to:

  • Verify your identity as a bona fide student of the URS Cainta BTLED-IA program.
  • Generate official digital student profiles, ID previews, and event certificates.
  • Process your registrations, event submissions, and uploaded files securely via Google Workspace integration.
  • Send organizational announcements, event updates, or urgent notices regarding your submissions.

4. Data Storage and Security

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information.

All submitted files, event forms, and master lists are hosted securely using institutional Google Workspace drives (Google Sheets, Google Drive) strictly accessible only by the authorized BTLED Executive Officers and Organization Advisers. Your local profile data is stored securely in your browser's localStorage and never shared with third-party tracking services.

5. Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent student personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification with the university administration for official reporting purposes.

Personal data will only be disclosed if required by the URS Administration, or if mandated by law.

6. Your Data Privacy Rights

Under RA 10173, you have the right to:

  • Be Informed: Know how your data is being used and stored.
  • Access & Correct: Update your details anytime using the "Edit Profile" feature on this portal.
  • Erase or Block: Request the deletion or removal of your data from our active organizational database if you leave the program or university.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

The BTLED Organization has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage students to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.
